Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Councilor Lady Gles Pallen, who is also the president of Liga ng mga Barangay, held a meeting with city and barangay officials at the Bacolod City Government Center today 20, May 20, to discuss the guidelines on the 3rd wave distribution of food packs starting Thursday.
Each of the 42,000 food packs contains seven kilos of rice, five canned goods, and five packs of noodles. However, due to the shortage of noodles supply, some of these food packs contain seven kilos of rice and eight canned goods.
The target beneficiaries are those who were not included in the Special Amelioration Program (SAP) grant and 4Ps (Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program).
“The idea here is to ‘spread the sunshine’ so that we can extend assistance to as many beneficiaries as possible,” Leonardia said.
Joining the meeting were Supervising and Administrative Officer Federico Guanzon Jr., Executive Assistant Butch Soliguen, DSSD head Pacita Tero, and Sally Abelarde also of DSSD.
The distribution of food packs is in line with the Emergency Food Assistance Program of the city, as Bacolod is still under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) this month.
During the assembly, Leonardia also appealed to the Punong Barangays to continue pursuing the implementation of basic health protocols in the barangay level, such as wearing of face masks and observance of social distancing.*/CITY PIO
