BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – A businessman was shot here in a commercial complex but police have yet to declare if the victim is dead or alive in the hospital more than an hour after he was rushed for treatment.
Police officials cannot even identify the victim yet.
“Our investigators have yet to submit an initial report,” local police chief Col. Henry Biñas told DNX.
Vice-Mayor El Cid Familiaran said the victim was Roland Tan who owns Crown Agri-Trading Corporation that has an agricultural supplies store in Narra Avenue at the Shopping Commercial Complex.
Tan was about to board his SUV when the gunmen shot him. Witnesses near the scene told DNX they heard what sounded like gunshots before they saw Tan slumped on the driver’s side of the SUV.
A crying woman, who was identified by occupants of nearby stalls as a sister of Tan, told the cops that the killers fled eastwards up Narra Avenue.
His shooting came less than a week after the fatal shooting of Gerald Cuadra, son of convicted drug boss Jose Kim who was gunned down on the first day of a downscaled community quarantine here.
