Bacolod City tops vaccination coverage

BACOLOD CITY (PIA) –- Bacolod City topped other local government units in Western Visayas on vaccination coverage accomplishment, showed the data from the Regional Vaccination Operations Center of the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development.

As of 6:00AM of March 21, Bacolod City has fully vaccinated 152.86 percent of its target population of 321,665 for 18-59 years old age group; while for 60 and above age group, it has fully vaccinated 124.96 percent of its target population of 60,661.

Meanwhile, in Western Visayas a total of 156,828 target population were inoculated during the National Vaccination Days on March 10-18, 2022

The region was able to surpass the target of 154,097 at 101.77 percent accomplishment rate.

Bacolod City and Negros Occidental were able to reach a total of 68,080 jabs, of which 20,688 and 47,392 get the jabs done, respectively.

Nurse V Mariebe Adrias of DOH 6 during the Isyung Bakuna Online Talakayan episode March 21 said that the local government units were getting used to the Vaccinations Days since this is already part 4.

“We can already see the improvements that somehow the challenges and gaps in the previous roll outs and vaccination campaigns were addressed and that our LGUs and health care workers have remained resilient in the vaccination efforts and fight against COVID-19,” Adrias said.
