Insights on the Bayanihan Spirit and Pagkakawanggawa, vis a vis the issues on Propaganda and Politicking amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
For once, let us set aside our political, religious, economic, intellectual, philosophical, and ideological differences.
Let us set aside our biases and our prejudices.
For this moment only, let us face the reality that
Our nation is facing a common enemy.
The CoVid-19 virus.
This pandemic has brought out the best and the worst in people.
There are those who chose to serve. Many have offered their lives so that others may live. Our frontliners have ensured the survival of this nation and our people.
There are those amongst us who chose to give to those who have none. Many of us have inspired others to give for as long as there is something to give.
There are those who have saved countless lives but chose to work in silence and in anonymity.
Some, unfortunately, chose to sow terror and fear, adding burden to an already overburdened nation.
Some chose the path of political and ideological opportunism to malign the government and the thousands of public servants who put their lives on the line to ensure the continuous delivery of basic services to the people.
These people are no different from the CoVid-19 virus that wreaks havoc on our communities.
This pandemic has unmasked their true nature.
We are appealing to the Filipino people to be united in our fight against the CoVid-19 virus.
Let us not allow those who seek to politicize this crisis by advancing their party political agenda and ideology that seeks to destroy this nation and our people.
We are Filipinos.
We are resilient.
We are strong.
We can overcome this pandemic.
Tayo ay lahi ng mga magigiting.
Tayo ay nagmula sa angkan ng mga bayani.
May takot sa Diyos.
May pag-ibig sa kapwa.
This is a time for peace.
This is a time for sharing.
Huwag po nating hayaan na ang ating pagkakawanggawa ay mahahaluan ng bahid ng pulitika o ideyoholiyang maka-Komunista. Huwag tayong magpapagamit o magpapalinlang sa propaganda ninuman.
Ang tunay na pagmamalasakit ay nagbubukal sa pag-ibig at pananampalataya…
hindi sa partido sa pulitika, at lalong
hindi sa ideyolohiyang naglalayon ng terorismo at pagpapabagsak ng demokrasya,
Alalahanin natin, na ang konsepto ng “communal sharing” o pagbabahaginan ng yaman sa lahat ay isang konseptong Kristiyano na nakaugat sa Banal na Aklat.

“At ang lahat ng mga nagsisampalataya ay nangagkakatipon, at lahat nilang pag-aari ay sa kalahatan. At ipinagbili nila ang kanilang mga pag-aari at kayamanan, at IPINAMAMAHAGI SA LAHAT, AYON SA PANGANGAILANGAN NG BAWAT ISA.”
Therefore, let us embrace the task of helping one another in this time of pandemic. For the sake of those who need help the most. For the love of God, country, and the Filipino people.
