BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Mayor-elect Albee Benitez has confirmed he has held initial talks with representatives of popular membership shopping chain S&R for the opening of its branch in this highly-urbanized capital of more than 600,000.
The popular members-only shopping chain retails premium imported products and services in a warehouse type shopping experience.
Benitez said in his Facebook page they are eyeing a 1.4-hectare area for the store’s location here.
Iloilo is the first city to have an S&R store in Western Visayas.
The store first started with warehouses in four key locations in BGC, Alabang, Congressional and ASEANA in 2006.
S&R on its website says consumers no longer need to fly around the globe to try premium international products as they can get to experience a wide selection of food, beverages, appliances, health supplements, household items, and a lot of exclusive member’s offers
They could also have access to popular brands globally and save the hassle of flying out of the country.
All of these can be experienced with a membership card.
They offer Gold Member and Business Member cards.
If this plan be pushed through, this will be the first S&R store in the province.
