BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Inter-Agency Task Force chairperson and Bacolod Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran encouraged the public to learn to live with the virus now that a new variant has been discovered in the United States.

Familiaran also called on the public to double up efforts and observance of health safety protocols now that the Department of Health Western Visayas has placed the city under a high risk classification and alert level 3.

Familiaran called the DOH 6 classification “alarming”, as he called on the public to wear double masks, double the distance in social distancing, as well as observe proper hygiene at all times.

The DOH regional office, in its report as quoted by the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, classified Bacolod City as a high risk area for COVID-19 transmission.
