BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Businessman Vladimir Gonzalez who has ran and lost in two previous polls will run again for the mayoral polls if he does not see anyone truly wanting to serve the people of Bacolod City.
“I will stand for the people of Bacolod City even if I don’t have the money,” Gonzalez told DNX, disclosing his political plans for the first time only several months ahead of the period for the filing of certificates to run for the 2022 polls.
Gonzalez said if either former Cong. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez or former city councilor Lyndon Caña would decide to run for mayor, he will not pursue his political plans and will let them have a run of the field.
He even mentioned that he is willing to contribute money to their candidacies.
The businessman, who ran as vice mayor, first in 206 to then mayoral candidate Monico Puentevella, the second in 2019 to former Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue.
He lost in both.
