VG’s stepson gets unified support for PCL top seat

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Provincial Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said his stepson, La Carlota City Councilor Julius Martin Asistio, has been endorsed as coalition candidate by unified Love Negros (LN) and United Negros Alliance (UNegA) for the presidential post of the Philippine Councilor’s League (PCL) chapter here.

“It shows to the public that we have unity in Negros,” Ferrer said on the unified endorsement of Asistio.

Ferrer, who calls the coalition as ‘UniLove’ added that LN and UNegA have been unified since 2019.

“If there’s a coalition, there’s no more intramurals,” he said referring to the clash between the two political parties.

There will be a process before the oath-taking, and he said “whatever will be the outcome, I’m sure it’s one group.”

He also denied the rumors that he was offered a national government post and said that it’s between him and the person who offered the position.

“I was elected by the people of Negros Occidental, I will not abandon my post,” he pointed out.
