Two variants of concern detected in NegOcc

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines -The Alpha and Beta Variants were detected through genome sequencing by the Philippine Genome Center last 30 July, 2021, a press release from the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Regional Memorial Hospital said.

These cases are found in Cadiz City for the Beta variant and La Carlota City for the Alpha variant.

These variants are known to have a high transmissibility rate than the original virus.

Hence, the public is advised to take extra precautions especially the threat of Delta variant might be present in the local community.
