BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The cities of Victorias and San Carlos will temporarily suspend the arrival of the Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) in their respective cities starting tomorrow, October 23.

This after the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) has approved the moratorium requests of San Carlos City Mayor Rene Gustilo and Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca.

Based on Resolution No. 50 issued by the RIATF, the approved duration of suspension for Victorias City is from October 23-30, 2020, while for San Carlos, from October 23- November 6, 2020.

Provincial Incident Management Team (PIMT) Commander Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian said the two cities requested for a moratorium after their quarantine facilities reached full capacity.

The purpose of the moratorium is to decongest, disinfect, and prepare quarantine facilities for the new batch of incoming LSIs and Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs).

Gustilo said the cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in their city continues to increase so a moratorium is necessary to control the situation.
