Suspected rebels killed in clash identified as Central Negros members

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The two suspected members of the New People’s Army who were killed in a clash against government troopers last 13 June 2023 were finally identified by their respective families.

A press release from the Philippine Army revealed that the two were identified as Benjie Ebarle alias Omar, married and resident of Sitio Mantauyan, Macagahay village (barangay) Moises Padilla, and Roweno Fermiza Anobong alias Wen, 46, married, and a resident of Sitio Agogolo, Macagahay, Moises Padilla. Both were members of Central Negros 1.

Their bodies were extracted from Sitio Cupad, Macagahay, Moises Padilla and transferred to the village of Maytubig, Isabela with the help of Philippine Air Force Black Hawk from Tactical Operation Group 6.

These were received by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management office of Moises Padilla, and Moises Padilla police and turned over to Nalagon Funeral Homes in Moises Padilla.

Meanwhile, the 62nd Infantry Battalion is appealing and calling on the wounded and fleeing rebels to voluntarily surrender since government will never stop hunting them to ensure and sustain the peace and development in Central Negros.
