The President, during the press briefing, played with an alcohol sprayer on his desk, and then attempted to drink some of liquid squirting from the machine.

He got quite a mouthful. (Check the 31:09 mark of his address).

Duterte, in the same press briefing, also clarified that he was serious about using gas (apparently kerosene gas) and gasoline as alternative disinfectant especially among poor people who could not afford isopropyl or ethyl alcohol.

He reacted to adverse comments from critics who called him crazy (loko-loko) for suggesting — or some said was joking about — the use of alternative disinfectants, “Kung loko-loko ako, ikaw na sana ang nag Presidente (If I were crazy, then you should have been President.)”

This as he stood by his earlier claim that gasoline and cooking gas can be used as disinfectant.

Totoo yang sinabi ko sa alcohol…. Kapag walang alcohol, lalo na sa mahihirap, ‘punta ka lang doon sa gasoline station, at magpatulo ka [sa kamay] (If you cannot afford alcohol, especially the poor, go to the nearest gasoline station and have your hands squirted with a drop of gasoline),” he said, adding, “hindi ako nagbibiro.”

At one point, he even said he would have empty vials reserved for drug addicts, threatening to inject them with “hangin (air).”

Duterte called a press briefing to declare that a vaccine is almost ready – on its third stage from China (see related story).

He said by December the country will be back to normal.
