BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Bacolod City, and Negros Occidental will conduct a mass testing 28 to 31 August 2020, we review the criteria set by the Department of Health to serve as guidance for evaluation.
The DOH advisory said patients should be evaluated and discussed with public health departments on a case-by-case basis if their clinical presentation or exposure history is uncertain.
The DOH defines close contact as:
persons visiting patients or staying in the same close environment of a nCoVpatient.
being within approximately 6 feet (two meters), or within the room or care area, of a positive case for a prolonged period of time while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment or PPE (e.g., gowns, gloves, NIOSH-certified disposable N95 respirator, eye protection);
a person caring for, living with, visiting, or sharing a health care waiting area or room with a novel coronavirus case,
anyone having direct contact with infectious secretions of a positive case (e.g., being coughed on) while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment.
Working together in close proximity or sharing the same classroom environment with a positive case
traveling together with CoViD patient in any kind of conveyance
living in the same household as a CoViD patient,
health care associated exposure, including providing direct care for CoViD patients; working with health care workers infected with CoViD; exposure to animals or animal products.
Exposure may have occurred within a 14‐day period before or after the onset of illness in the case under consideration.
