“Shabulized” tag on Bacolod could have led to my relief, Espenido says

BACOLOD CITY – Controversial police officer Jovie Espenido said his description of this highly-urbanized city as “shabulized” could have contributed to his relief as the anti-drug czar here.

He added it could be possible politicians were involved in his relief, a possibility that is difficult to say now “unless it would be confirmed later.”

Espenido told DNX on the sidelines of a news conference here today that these “smalltime politicians” could be working for someone “influential” or close to Malacañan. (READ also: “Someone” in the PNP made a mistake, Jovie says)

Asked if President Duterte believe these politicians more than him, Espenido said “they could be close to the President but I am not.”

The controversial police officer who led anti-drug operations in the Visayas, was handpicked by President Duterte to be deployed here October last year with the order to “kill everybody.”

Four months later, Espenido was relieved.
