BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental — The Provincial Police office is inspecting the readiness of its members five days before D-Day, Provincial police director Colonel Leo Pamittan said.
Early this morning, police enforcers were deployed to the provincial police to augment the current force.
They will be deployed to the 31 LGUs in time for the 9 May polls.
Pamittan along with other NOCPPO officers checked the completeness of the equipment and paraphernalia of the policemen based on the approved checklist which was published by the Philippine National Police.
Quick Look Guides were distributed during the activity. The booklets contain details like basic instructions, duties and responsibilities and emergency hotline numbers for any election eventuality that may occur.
Pamittan also reminded the PNP personnel to follow the dos and don’ts stipulated in the Quick Look Guide provided by NOCPPO, and to be especially vigilant in performing their mission.
A total of 1396 NOCPPO personnel are now ready to be deployed to 698 voting centers, with two police personnel to be assigned in each center.
On top of this, the NOCPPO also has 2,197 members of the Quick Reaction Force to help with the security issues on that big day.
After the inspection, the 230 troopers who attended this morning’s program were directed to report to their respective stations where they will render their duty.
