P10 billion Bacolod Coastal Road among three big projects in WV pushed by Mayor Albee

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The city’s sitting mayor, Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez has pushed for a P10 billion coastal road to be built here along with Regional Warehouses, and a Boracay Cruise Ship Hub as among the big projects for Western Visayas.

Benitez, who is concurrent chair of the Regional Development Council 6, pushed for the three projects during a meeting of RDC chairs called for by sitting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The City Information Office reported the Bacolod Coastal Road “aims to facilitate preparations for the much-anticipated (sic)” Panay-Guimaras-Negros Bridge.

Aside from the Coastal Road, Benitez also pushes for The Regional Warehouses and the Boracay Cruise Ship Hub.

The regional warehouses will be constructed in the cities of Cadiz in Negros Occidental province, and Roxas in Capiz province, the PIO added.

No further details were given about the ship hub in Boracay, a popular island resort in the town of Malay, Aklan province.

The city has 15 coastal villages from Sum-ag in the south to Banago in the north spanning an estimated 13 kilometers.
