BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – There will be no travel restrictions on Bacolod residents as the city is placed under alert level 3.
This is according to Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz who told DNX that despite the COVID alert upgrade, it is not practical to impose border controls as long as the movement within Negros Occidental is still smooth.
He said that the province will shoulder the cost of testings and that the hospitals like Cadiz District hospital are on alert as of now, adding additional 100 beds intended for COVID patients.
Diaz compared the situation of the province and city of Bacolod in a “husband and wife in one bed” that what happens in Bacolod also happens to the rest of the province.
According to him what the province can do as of now is to diligently conduct testing to prevent the spread of the virus to the rest of negros occidental.
He added that all persons coming from alert level 3 are required to have their RT-PCR Test when they apply for SPASS.
