BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – “Ari lang kami diri, kaya ta ni (We are just here, we can do this).”
That message to COVID19 confirmed Patient 7 came from Arturo “Ahmit” Teruel, president of the Pueblo Rosario Homeowners Association, Inc. who also urged Patient 7 to follow home quarantine conditions so he can get better quickly and for him to contribute to the betterment of the community.
Teruel, who met DNX along with other association officials – Bombi Miraflores, Luis Roberto Gonzales, Glenn Agena, Glenn Trabasas, and Eugene Roa – said they will provide whatever support they can to Patient 7, a 48-year-old man with travel history to the United States who had been exposed to a previous confirmed case.
To help in the “community healing,” DNX will also take down its previous post of a photo of the patient who went out on his balcony without a face mask on.
DNX has also relayed to Patient 7’s son-in-law the message of Teruel and is expecting a message from his family today.
Officials, however, have clarified that Patient 7 has not violated any quarantine protocol.
Teruel said they will provide whatever support they can give to Patient 7, including support for watchmen and police manning a security checkpoint on Victoria Street that is now under lockdown.
