Seventeen house keys were turned over to city government employees through a formal ceremony last Tuesday, 22 November 2021 in Kabankalan.
Mayor Pedro P. Zayco, Jr and Vice Mayor Raul Rivera lead the ribbon cutting for the Turnover ceremony With them were Councilors Efren Gaspillo, Ramon Cordova, Celestino Dumaguete, Ms. Rose Depra of National Economic Development Foundation, Bernadette Ayala, Focal Person of Kabankalan Socialize Housing and Terence Dacles of GIZ Philippines.
“As I turned over the keys to the homeowners, it is my prayer that they will take care of this property and live a peaceful and bountiful life with their family,” Zayco said in a speech during the ceremony.
According to Rivera, the Zayco brothers – the current mayor and former Mayor Isidro Zayco and Mayor Pedro P. Zayco, Jr — served Kabankalan City with “utmost dedication and commitment” by giving the opportunity to government employees to have decent and affordable housing.
To date, 195 units constructed for the government employees. For the Isidro Village (Phase 1) there are 99 units and for Pedro Village (Phase 2) 96 units. Each unit has a total floor area of 32 sq meters with the total lot area of 100 sq meters.
Another phase will open for the coming year which is considered as part of the welfare program of the City Government of Kabankalan.
