BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Bacolod Mayor Evelio assured to “seriously pursue” potential lot donors in coordination with Bacolod Cong. Greg Gasataya over the construction of the Bacolod City General Hospital.
He also sought help for the possible inclusion inf the 2022 national budget, and to for national government to fully fund the project “to unburden the local finances of the city”.
This was after the approval of the bill for the hospital, a bill authored by Gasataya in the House of Representatives, and by Senator Miguel Zubiri for the Senate.
The mayor, in an official statement furnished to the media, said he received a call from Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, the chairman of the Committee on Health in the Senate. I thanked him for the approval of the Bill on the creation of the Bacolod City General Hospital.
“I pointed out to Sen. Bong that this is good news for Bacolod and that Grupo Progreso had this among its campaign promises in 2019. And fittingly so, Sen. Bong along with President Rody Duterte and Mayor Sara Duterte were among those who endorsed our candidacies,” Leonardia said.
He also quoted Go, who said that the bill’s passage to law is almost done, once it undergoes the third hearing.
