BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Lawyer-accountant Pacifico “Boyet” Maghari III has accepted the offer of Mayor-Elect Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez to become this urban center’s next little mayor as the fresh terms of elected officials in the May polls start in the country noontime of 30 June 2022.
Maghari, now concurrent executive assistant and housing chief in the neighboring city of Talisay has confirmed his acceptance of the key City Hall post to DNX through a close friend days after Benitez disclosed the names of some lawyers who will make up his team.
Aside from Maghari, Team Asenso, the local team of Benitez, has also announced the designation of lawyer Karol Joseph Chiu as secretary to the mayor.
The Team Asenso graphic cards said Maghari became a lawyer after passing the Bar in March 2000, shortly after he graduated his Bachelor of Laws in 1999 from the University of St. La Salle-Bacolod, the same school where he graduated with cum Laude honors in Accounting
He placed 13th in the Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examinations in October 1994.
Maghari is managing partner of
Maghari and Co CPAs Accounting Office
(Since 1999) and partner of the
AMEGO and Associates Law Office.
He is also President of the Negros Occidental CPAs Foundation, Inc. (NOCPFAI)
Health and mass housing are two key priorities that Benitez and his local coalition had outlined in their campaign platform.
Asenso also said Chiu is a senior partner of the Chiu, Tanoso, Malan, Mayo, Cua Law Office who graduated his AB Political Science and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
DNX has yet to independently confirm if Chiu accepted the offer of Benitez.
