BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Standard protocols will soon be created in dealing with the threat of the 2019-nCov.

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia assured this as the city created an inter-agency task force that will not just create protocols but will strengthen the information dissemination campaign about the disease.
Leonardia signed on 31 January the Executive Order 2A Series of 2020 forming a task force to fight coronavirus following the confirmation of the first coronavirus case in the Philippines.
The task force is composed of the Bureau of Quarantine, Department of Health, Department of Trade and Industry, Bureau of Immigration, Civil Aviation Authority, Philippine Ports Authority, Philippine Coast Guard, Land Transportation Office, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Tourism Office, Public Information Office, Department of Education, Department of Interior and Local Government, and Bacolod City Police Office.
It will be led by Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran as the chairman and Councilor Cindy Rojas, head of the Committee on Health, and City Health Officer Ma. Carmela Gensoli as the vice chairpersons.
Liga ng mga Barangay President Lady Gles Gonzales- Pallen also promised support on the city’s moves against nCov.
She said every barangay will have its own special task force to help in the dissemination of information materials about coronavirus.
The city mayor also warned those spreading misinformation and fake news on social media.
“They may face charges. Let us only believe statements coming from official authorities,” Leonardia said.
Leonardia appealed to the public to remain calm and vigilant now that the nCoV has reached our country.
