Lightning strikes four in Silay as monsoon rains pound Sugarlandia

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Lightning struck four people in Silay, a neighboring city north of here as monsoon rains pounded the province Saturday morning, 14 August 2021.

Capitol disaster czar Zaephard Caelian told DNX the Silay disaster unit said the victims were hit in the sub-village of Roma in Balaring, a coastal residential area famous for its eateries by the sea.

He added the Silay report said two of the victims were “okay.”

Of the two others, one had “no pulse, no breathing,” and the other was “ginakurog (shivering).”

One of the four was brought to the hospital and was identified as Rodney Sabadisto.

No added details were given by the Silay rescue team, Caelian said.
