BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Lawyer Lorendo Dilag, chair of the board of directors of the Bacolod City Water District, brushed off the tirades of lone opposition Councilor Wilson “Jun” Gamboa Jr. after his adjective-laden privilege speech over the termination of dozens of BACIWA employees.
“I am thinking of anything (about his speech) because I am not thinking of him,” Dilag told DNX when sought for comment over Gamboa’s speech.
Dilag is a former city councilor for several terms since the 1990s and had been allied with Mayor Evelio Leonardia before his retirement from local politics.
Leonardia appointed him to the BACIWA board.
Dilag, who belonged to the POST-EDSA I breed of politicians here, was one of the more quotable officials here during his term.
Asked if he wanted to respond to the use of words like “evil” and “crooked” to describe directors of BACIWA, Dilag said he would rather not.
“Let him dance to his own music,” Dilag added.
