BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The Leni-Kiko Negros team sortie kicked off today with its top candidates calling for government accountability and appeals to voters to choose candidates with credentials.
“Hindi tama ang panunungkulan (Governance is not right) two years into the pandemic,” Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan said before a crowd that gathered in San Carlos City where their six-area swing in the province kicked off early today.
Pangilinan also appealed to the crowd to consider credibility and credentials in choosing their candidate.
“Who is the team that has a clear platform?” he asked as he added that they don’t use “fake receipts and lies on Facebook,” an apparent referral to issues of fake diplomas and school documents against another presidential candidate.
Vice President Leni Robredo, who was introduced by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, called on voters to not waste their votes as she noted the increased involvement of the youth in the 2022 polls.
“Our choice will dictate what kind of government we will have in the future,” she said.
