31 July 2024 – PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL. The Provincial Census-CBMS Coordinating Board of Negros Occidental convened to discuss the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System on 31 July 2024 at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol, Bacolod City.
With Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose V. Lacson presiding over the meeting, the board was able to discuss the salient points of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS launched by the Philippine Statistics Authority last 12 July 2024. PSA – Negros Occidental Chief Statistical Specialist John F. Campomanes took over the podium and explained that this ongoing statistical activity is the joint conduct of the Census of Population and the Community-Based Monitoring System which aims to simultaneously account for the total population in the province and the whole nation, and abet in the implementation of the Republic Act No. 11964 or the “Automatic Income Classification of Local Government Units Act.” He highlighted that the result of which would serve as the basis for the updated list of beneficiaries of social protection programs and the National Tax Allocation promoting the efficient use of government services.
CSS Campomanes further underscored the enjoinment of both the Provincial Census-CBMS Coordination Board and the public in the conduct of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS for reliable results which would greatly impact national decisions.
