Victorias City Government donated a two-story school building with four classrooms to Barangay Estado National High School – Gawahon Class which was funded by National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) worth Php 7 million, October 10.
This is the first-ever school building turnover under the administration of Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez.
Before the establishment of the school building, students must travel to the neighboring barangays and some even have to cross a river to go to school.
However, through the donation project, students and parents alike are no longer forced to spend a penny on travel.
Needless to say, it is a dream come true for the people in Gawahon.
Furthermore, Mayor Benitez led the ceremonial turning over and blessing ceremonies of the new school building with Schools Division Superintendent Portia Mallorca, PhD, CESO V, City Schools Division of Victorias City personnel, Punong Barangay Rogelio Barnuevo, Punong Barangay Milagros Osano, BENHS Teacher-in-Charge Mary Ann Ballados, BENS-Gawahon Class, Teacher-in-Charge Marjohn Saura, and Fr. Jess Elmer Ebro who officiated the blessing ceremony.
BENHS – Gawahon Class currently has 100 regular students in grades 7, 8, and 9. *
