BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Lacson has signed Executive Order 20-24, extending the duration of the General Community Quarantine over the province until 31 May, 2020.
Under the new E.O., borders, ports, and airports of the province remain closed, while home quarantine passes and provincial passes are no longer required or inspected.
Other salient points of the E.O. include the following: Heightened patrol of seaports, and borders, with the police, army, and Coast Guard tasked to man security and patrol of the designated areas, Resumption of religious activities, provided that only 50 percent of the building’s capacity is accommodated, no physical contact with face masks worn at all times, places of worship are disinfected afterwards, the public be informed of the schedule beforehand, masses and services are streamed online;
Mandatory use of face masks; continued manning of intra-border checkpoints along main highways for the purpose of checking checking for compliance of province-mandated safeguards against COVID-19, as well as thermal scanning;
Mandatory 14-day quarantine for all persons entering the province at the COVID Healing Centers in EB Magalona, and Mambukal Mountain Resort; provincial ECQ passes are extended until 31 May to ensure the unimpeded transit of goods through Bacolod; observance of social distancing if at least one meter between and among persons.
