The city council of Himamaylan is now pushing for the deliberation of delivery of better social services, as well as support for certain sectors that are most affected by the pandemic.
Himamaylan Vice-Mayor Justin Gatuslao told DNX that the council is now focusing on two main things: delivery of better social services, and support for the marginalized sectors in the city.
“We have small but growing number of small business class who are affected by the pandemic,” Gatuslao told DNX, adding that small businessmen and most vulnerable sectors are among those most affected by the pandemic.
Gatuslao said that 15 percent of their projected budget will go to these sectors.
He added that the city so far has done a “good job” in keeping the numbers down in Himamaylan, as the city has not yet reached 20 positive active cases as of this writing.
