BACOLOD CITY – A gamefowl breeder here and his mother are filing complaints for threats and harassment against a village chief for allegedly threatening him with a gun and harassing his elderly mother.

Patrick Joe Belocura told DNX the two separate but related incidents took place 11 December in barangay Tangub and involved village chief Noli Villarosa.

The village chief is former head of the local association of barangay captains and was then allied with Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

In the last polls, however, he supported former Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue who ran and lost against Leonardia.

Belocura claimed Villarosa harassed his mother, Rosely, in the morning of 11 December outside her house where she was supervising the putting up of a stall.

Mrs. Belocura’s house is just across the village hall where Villarosa stays and holds office.

“He cursed her and said a lot of things, including bad ones about my dead father, my mother told me,” Patrick explained to DNX and added that the structure she was building had all the necessary permits.

He said he was at his house in nearby Cabug village when his mother called to inform him about the incident.

He then went to the Tangub village hall and sought out Villarosa who was not there yet so he waited at his mother’s house, he said.

Villarosa arrived around 2pm and Patrick said he went to him and asked to talk about what happened that morning.

“Can we talk, I asked him,” Patrick recalled, to which Villarosa replied im a stern and raised voice “gaistorya naman ta (we are talking already).”

Patrick said he then told Villarosa “what you did to my mom was uncalled for, you could have just talked to her properly inside the village hall.”

Villarosa grew furious and told him to complain to the police.

“He then hurriedly went inside the village hall and got a gun,” Patrick claimed and added that he rushed to his mother’s house to avoid being shot.

Across the street, Villarosa he said, was shouting “drawhay (duel)?” to which Patrick responded by waving him to come over as seen on the video.

Patrick said they are filing a case versus Villarosa.
