Camp Leon Kilat, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental – The commanding general of the Philippine exhorted government troopers to exert more efforts in ending local armed conflicts.

Major General Andres Centino, in his first command visit at headquarters of the 302nd Infantry Brigade last 27 August 2021, reminded government soldiers of the Army’s thrust “to end the local communist armed conflict” through the whole-of-government and whole-of-nation approach.

“We are gaining ground and let us end this five decades of the (communist terrorist group’s) deception for our next generation who will truly benefit from our success,” Centino added.

During his talk to troops, Centino also thanked the men and women of the Team Achiever for their “devotion to duty and contributions in the various accomplishments of the Brigade”.

As part of the itinerary in the brigade’s area of operations, Centino also visited the Community Defense Unit Patrol Base located at Sitio Ling-ab, village of San Miguel, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental where the resettlement site of the Kapatiran Negros Oriental Chapter is also located.

The Kapatiran para sa Progresibong Panlipunan, Inc. is formerly known as the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa-Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade-Tabara Paduano Group (RPM-P/RPA/ABB/TPG).

They were given medical supplies which they can use during their operations.

Centino also inspected the ongoing construction of the core shelters for the members of the Kapatiran under the PAMANA housing project of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPPAP) being built by the 542nd Engineer Construction Battalion of 53rd Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army.
