Endorsement and support of Negrosanon Student and Youth Leaders for #146 Akbayan Party List
We, Negrosanon student and youth leaders, share the belief that leaders must show up and stand firm in difficult times. We have always been active in pushing for positive social change by advancing various campaigns and advocacies to help those who are neglected, oppressed, underrepresented, and marginalized.
We believe that we need progressive champions in government as well who will fight for the causes we fight for and stand firm amidst the prevailing traditional politics. Hence, we endorse and support the progressive and veteran party list that has been constantly fighting for the welfare of the Filipino youth and the Filipino people – #146 Akbayan Partylist.
Some of the wins and efforts of #146 Akbayan Partylist of the youth include the Mental Health Act, the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act (SK Reform Act), Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Law, and Youth Entrepreneurship Act. Through #34 Akbayan Senator Risa Hontiveros, Akbayan also fights for the passage of the SOGIE Equality Bill. Akbayan Senator Hontiveros also passed Resolution No. 901 calling for the declaration of an education crisis and rolling out of an education emergency plan.
We also believe that the issues of the youth are intersectional with the general challenges of our society. #146 Akbayan Partylist, being a multi-sectoral representative of the Filipino people in the Congress, also won policies for the marginalized sectors such as the Cheaper Medicines Law, the Expanded Maternity Leave Law, the Reproductive Health Law, the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Law, Strengthened Anti-Hospital Deposit Law, among others.
