BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental – The end of Holy Week proved tragic for a young girl and a man who both died on Easter in southern Negros Occidental.
Police in Kabankalan, the city two hours south of here, reported Ariana Laurita, 11, went on an outing with her family at the Bayahao River in Camansi village where she and her cousin strayed into the deep part while they were playing in the river around 9:30am.
The victim was dead by the time she was brought to the hospital.
Further south, police in Cauayan town said Jay-Ar Salazar was found dead by a resident lettingbhis carabao graze in Bulata village.
Salazar bore hack wounds on his neck and left face around 8am also on Easter Sunday.
Town police chief, Col. Gary Alan Resuma told DNX they have yet to identify the killer of Salazar.
Meanwhile, up north, in Talisay City, police reported a man was stabbed over a debt he owed the suspect.
The redacted blotter of the Talisay Police to Camp Montelibano only mentioned the incident happened the incident happened aroind 3pm at Hacienda Jose Maria in Barangay 15.
Police have yet to arrest the suspect.
