BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – A librarian of the Bacolod City College found a fellow worker dead today sitting on an office chair around 8:30 am.
Police reported Jesus Garcia Gurrea, 61, of Taculing village was found by Fritzel Tabaque sitting lifeless on a chair at the third floor of one of the buildings of the college.
Gurrea, assigned to the community extension office of BCC, was reported to have died of a heart attack.
In Singcang Airport village, 12 January, policemen on patrol nabbed two men allegedly playing an illegal game of chance using seallshells known in the local language as bug-oy.
Police nabbed in Neptune sub-village the suspected illegal gamblers, Ogie Alabagan, 40, of Paghidait sub-village, Mansilingan; and Edgar Pagoda, 43, of Maghili-Ugyon sub-village, Brgy. 35.
The police confiscated five seashells used in the game and P192 of alleged gambling money.
In other incidents, a boy and a 21-year-old man were arrested by Station 5 operatives in Sigay sub-village, Brgy. 2 for allegedly having suspected shabu.
Police identified the suspects as Jenno Dadivas, 21, and a minor whose name is being withheld.
Both are residents of the same place where the buy bust operation took place.
Arresting policemen seized 14 plastic packets containing suspected meth with an estimated market value of P50,000.
