BACOLOD CITY – The city government of Bacolod will provide food and vanity kits to around 250 stranded passengers at Bredco port due to cancellation of trips.

The Philippine Coast Guard has suspended all boat trips from Bredco port to Iloilo City, Bredco Port to Dumangas, Banago Port to Iloilo and Manila, San Carlos to Toledo, Cebu and Escalante City to Tabuelan.
Executive Assistant Joemarie Vargas, cluster head of City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said the stranded passengers will be brought to Education and Training Center School IV when the rainfall gets heavy.
Vargas added that the city has prepared for the upcoming typhoon because every barangay has its own designated evacuation area.
Vargas identified Barangays 2, 8, 12, Banago, Bata, Pahanocoy, Alijis and Taculing as flood prone areas.
Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia reminded the public not to underestimate the effect of the typhoon but to be ready and prepare for it.
The typhoon is set to make a landfall tonight in Bicol Region.
