BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Mayor Evelio Leonardia has requested the city council to pass an Appropriation Ordinance for the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) of City Hall employees.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) had earlier informed Leonardia the city is eligible to grant the 2019 PBB for its local government employees.
PBB is an incentive mechanism reward given to officials and employees of Local Government Units (LGUs) for good governance and meritorious performance.
DILG assistant regional director Maria Calpiza Sardua informed City Director Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag that Bacolod City is one of the 11 LGUs in Western Visayas that qualified for the 2019 PBB, a City Hall news release said.
Bacolod City became a national awardee of the 2019 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Award from the DILG in November last year.
Also in December last year, Bacolod was the overall “Best Performing LGU – City Category in Western Visayas” at the awarding ceremony of the DILG 2019 Excellence in Local Governance Awards (EXCELL), the press release said.
Bacolod was one of only 57 out of 145 cities in the country, and one of the only three cities in Negros Occidental to have received the SGLG award for 2019
Leonardia said, “The SGLG is our guidance, recognition, reward and inspiration.
This also raises our standards in local governance and we now have that additional moral obligation to sustain and maintain our brand of local governance.”
