BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Bongbong Marcos partymate and supporter, Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson said his meeting with Vice President and presidential candidate Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo was part of his official function as chief executive of a city reeling from a disastrous storm that hit southern Negros in full force a week before Christmas.
“It was also out of courtesy and for the welfare of my affected fellow Himamaylanons,” the neophyte mayor told DNX on the sideline of his rounds to villages in the city.
Tongson, a partymate of Marcos in the Philippine Federal Party, said he even wore a white shirt to show his courtesy for Robredo whose campaign color is pink.
Marcos’ campaign color, on the other hand, is red.
Robredo swung through southern Negros areas affected by Typhoon Odette Tuesday, 21 December 2021 to give help to affected Negrosanons and to meet with local officials.
