Army officer twits ‘broken’ NPA command; blasts Communist terrorists for rights violations

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – An officer of the Army unit in the north has twitted a Communist terrorist command that he described as “doble kara” in accusing them of rights violations even as its fighters continue to kill civilians and put the lives of women and children in danger.

“The Roselyn Jean Pilay Command is hallucinating that it represents the so called masses and pretends to fight for their rights, always mumbling a host of protocols and conventions they Communist terrorists supposedly adhere to yet its remnants do not hesitate to kill unarmed civilians,” Army Lieutenant Dan Carlo Samoza told DNX,

Samoza, civil military officer of the 79th Infantry Battalion that had dismantled the Northern Negros Front, was referring to the Roselyn Jean Pelle Command that he had called “Pilay (broken in Filipino)” since it suffered a major defeat in the Pinapugasan gunbattles in Escalante City.

Ironically, the Command was named after a woman fighter from Banago village here, who was killed in a military operation in Canlaon City in Negros Oriental.

She was publicly hailed then by the NPA as a woman martyr and a model for revolutionary mothers.

What they are doing, however, has only been to endanger women and children or kill civilians, Samoza said.

He piubted out to two particular cases, one in Macasilao village where a teenaged girl, 13, was threatened at gunpoint by a woman armed fighter in the middle of a firefight but was snatched to safety by Private First Class Hedges Matutima whose unit was on a community support engagement when they clashed with the rebels after villagers of Agtatahor Uno complained the rebels were forcing them to give food or money.

The other was during the recent killing of a peasant, Danny Brazona, 54, in Marcelo village in the same town.

Samoza said the mother covered the eyes of her son, 7, as the terrorist killers were shooting Brazona.

One of the killers, however, forcibly peeled her hand from her child’s eyes so he can watch the execution.
