BACOLOD CITY – Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia calls on public cooperation to successfully implement the intensified operation against business establishments without necessary permits.
“May I ask the public’s cooperation to help report business establishments especially those boarding houses (without permits) because it will help us with this operation,” he said.
Leonardia earlier ordered a team to conduct an intensified operation that will inspect the permits of business establishments in the city.
The team is composed of the Office of the Building Official, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Permits and Licensing Division, and City Health Office.
Leonardia reminded the team to focus on the accommodation facilities, including boarding houses in the city.
“Our focus must be in the accommodation facilities including boarding houses because if something happens, there is a great possibility that many will be affected or injured,” he said.
This after the recent fire incident in Java Pension House that killed six people including a minor.
“The safety of the public must be our top priority,” he added.
