Cash grants continue for Bacolod 4Ps beneficiaries

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The Department of Social Welfare and Development has so far released P38 million during last week of March, as well P49 million a week after, a press release from the Bacolod City PIO said.

These amounts will be released into the cash cards of the 10,569 4Ps beneficiaries in Bacolod, according to Pacita Tero, head of the City’s Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD).

The first ₱38 million released during the last week of March corresponded to the regular grants for December 2019 and January 2020.

The ₱49 million that followed a week later was the emergency social amelioration grant to help 4Ps beneficiaries whether the COVID crisis during this month of April.

Tero added that in May, the 4Ps beneficiaries shall be paid their regular grants for the months of February and March 2020.

On top of that, another ₱49 million shall, again, be remitted to them by the DSWD as their emergency social amelioration grant for the month of May.

“We can say that they (poorest of the poor) are now secured considering that they have received and will be receiving subsidies and grants from the government automatically,” she said.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia thanked the national government through the DSWD for the continued assistance to 4Ps beneficiaries, especially for the emergency social amelioration grants in April and May.
