“To level it up to minimum wage standard,” Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez said as he signed Executive Order No. 61 which mandates the Php 103 salary increase of job order employees in the City Government of Victorias, on Monday, October 10.
Through the executive order, the daily wage amounting to Php 347 will now be Php 450, an increase of Php 2,266 per month and a total of Php 27,192 in a year.
This is an aid for government employees considering the recent price increases due to inflation.
In addition, job order workers are prohibited from availing of any bonuses, benefits, and allowances as mandated by the Civil Service Commission.
Consequently, the order aims to augment the income of the city employees during a time of economic recession.
The executive order will take effect October 1. Currently, there are around 200 job order workers in the City Government of Victorias. *
