BACOLOD CITY – “Papa is a die-hard worker of the Java family,” Aaron Felomino said.
Aaron is the son of Arnold Felomino, the front desk officer of the recently devastated Java Pension House. Arnold died during the fire that happened last Tuesday morning 26 November. Among the dead were pension house owner Christopher, his son Christian Miguel, and mother Magdalena.
Arnold’s son reminisced the life of his father with the Java family through a phone call interview with DNX.
Before Arnold served as a front desk officer of the Java’s Pension House, he was hired as foreman of the late Crispin Java, an architect of Bago City, and father of Christopher.
Afterwards Arnold started working in Poloy’s Pension House then branched out to Java’s Pension House where he started working as maintenance officer before he eventually became its front desk officer.
He worked the graveyard shift in Java Pension House from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Arnold had already been in the employ of the Java family even while Christopher was just in high school at the University of St. La Salle-Integrated School. Thus, Arnold considered Christoper as his son.
“Papa (Arnold) is a type of guy whom you can (approach) for help,” says Aaron, as he described his father as a “die-hard” worker of the Java family, as well a loving lolo to his two grandchildren.
“He fetched the kids last Sunday because he had missed them so much,” says Arnold, stating their last conversation happened on Sunday, 20 November, when Arnold visited then brought with him his grandchildren to his residence in Village Sampinit, Bago City.
“He (Arnold) spoiled the kids, bought the things they wanted, went wherever they wanted to go. He was playful to his grandchildren. Their idea of bonding is massaging their lolo and pulling out his white hairs,” Aaron added.
Arnold was a widower since his son Aaron was 19 and while Aaron’s siblings were still studying in high school and elementary.
