BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Four of the five confirmed cases in Bacolod City have “recovered”, with Patient 1, the 56-year-old male with travel history to London coming out negative in his second test, latest data from the City Health Office shows.
The data, collated by CHO since it started monitoring cases last February 2, 2020, showed that 725 of the 1970 persons under monitoring (PUM) are done with their home quarantines. Of the number, 1215 are still on continued home quarantine, while 25 were not able to make a follow-up update of their status, and five PUMs re-classified as mild PUIs (or PUIs with mild symptoms).
The following are the other breakdown of the cases: the total number of specimens sent for testing is 26, with 21 coming out negative (one was of Patient 1’s repeat test), five positive. Two specimens are about to be sent, while two have pending results. Two Specimens were not tested due to inavailability of test kits at the time specimens were sent.

The following are the summary of the five confirmed cases in Bacolod:
BCD_CC#1: 56 year old male, travel history to UK, recovered, repeat test turning out negative; BCD_CC#2: 75-year-old, male, with travel history to Manila, recovered; BCD_CC#3: 40 year old male, hypertensive, travel history to Manila, critical;
BCD_CC#4: 28-year-old, male, exposure to confirmed case #1, recovered, awaiting 2nd test result; BCD_CC#5: 28-year-old, male, with travel history to USA, recovered.
The CHO said that cases do not stay positive long, and that symptoms disappear and patients recover, clinically.
As per DOH Departmental Memo 2020-0108, those discharged clinically well are still required to continue another 14-day strict home quarantine, with a repeat swab be taken after 14 days.
