“It was a success, we never expected the response to be this good,” former Army Capt. Jose Carlos Coruña told DNX Sunday as they wrapped up their pioneering run with a final class that included a five-year-old kid as one of the students.

Coruña or Capt. Cayo is one half of the founders of Downrange Daddy, the other being former banker Manolito Del Castillo.

Del Castillo, who also runs a home cooking business, Daddy In The Kitchen, sounded enthusiastic about the results of the first run.

“We already have a substantial number of alumni,” he said, with ages ranging from five to a mom well past 30.

There was even a mom-daughter duo, one of those who learned gun handling basics and, above all, gun safety, he also said.

By March, Shoot Like A Girl rolls out on all weekends of the month, Manolito said

Only women are allowed in March for these two-day marksmanship seminars for girls.

The NIR Shooting Range, on the other hand, continues to offer its packages, a first in the city, that features all inclusive packages or gun, bullets and range fees priced from P1,300 to P2,000.
