Bacolod more than 50 percent modernized, mayor lauds modern coops for ‘taking the bold move’

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Mass transportation in this highly-urbanized provincial center of more than half a million people is already more than 50 percent modernized, a City Hall executive said as an additional 20 units for the Fortune Towne-Central Market loop arrived here today, 15 September 2023.

Maghari added that as the Benitez government gears up to reach supercity status, Benitez wants “the best” modern mass transportation there is.

The Localized Public Transport Route Plan for the transport modernization program firs started under the Duterte government has led to 24 consolidated routes on which more than 1,000 modern jeepneys were authorized to ply.
