16 schools pre-identified as evac centers in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The Bacolod City government has prepared 16 schools as possible evacuation centers as Typhoon Odette is poised to enter the city.

The schools identified are Andres Bonifacio Elementary School I and II, Education and Training Center I, II, and III, Hervias National High School, Sum-ag Elementary School, Mandalagan Elementary School, Rizal Elementary School, Don R.A. Medel Elementary School, Mandalagan National High School, Apolinario Mabini Elementary School, Estefania Elementary School, Handumanan Elementary School, Bata National High School, and Bacolod City National High School.

Total number of rooms for evacuees are 375.

Areas of concern include Banago Creek in the villages of Bata and Banago;

Mandalagan River in the sub-village of Carvic, Mandalagan and village 1; Mambuloc Creek in the villages 2, 8, 10, and 12, Magsungay River in the villages of 27, 40, Tackling, and Singcang Airport, Lupit River in Alijis, Mansilingan, Singcang-Airport; and Pahanocoy Creek in the village of Pahanocoy.
