It is Sunday again in Bacolod today.
As Bacolod celebrates Mothers’ Day today, Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said today is also an oppurtune time to “stay home and bond with our families”.
He also took the time to honor all mothers that this day is an “opportunity to strengthen family ties”.
Today marks the fourth Sunday that the city goes into a total lockdown.
The mayor cites previous times when “we empty the streets and public places, when we reduce to the barest minimum contact with each other”.
“On total lockdown, Sunday is one day when the dreaded Covid-19 slows down, if not totally freezes, in its tracks and stop moving at all. A full day when the virus stops moving can go a long, long way in controlling this scourge that lives on its ability to move from human to human,” the mayor added.
