Lakers, back in the Finals after dismantling the Nuggets 117-107

The Los Angeles Lakers are now back in the NBA Finals after trampling down the Denver Nuggets 117-107.

After trailing 61 to 51 in the half, the Denver Nuggets was able to trim down the lead to end the third period.

A pivotal 17-3 run at the tail end of the quarter put them back into the game. The game was tied at 84 before Anthony Davis put-up a long trey with seconds left in the clock.

Nikola Jokic, the Serbian star of the Nuggets was suffering from foul trouble after three early calls in the first half.

The Joker then was brought to the bench after he was called for his fourth foul after battling for possession with Dwight Howard in the third quarter.

Howard’s antics and presence in all areas of the court was pivotal for the Lakers.

His hustle and energy made the Lakers a well-oiled machine all throughout the game.

He was even slapped with technical foul after a confrontation with Nuggets power forward Paul Millsap.

His mind games with several Nuggets players including Jokic and Jamal Murray put them out of focus in some parts of the game.

In the fourth and final quarter, Lebron James triple-double prove too much for the Nuggets.

With 38 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists, James powers the purple and gold marching to the Finals.

A barrage of clutch baskets from the 4x-Most Valuable Player dismantled the team from Colorado late in the fourth quarter. Danny Green who was in a slump also fired a long trey from top of the key to create more separation from the Nuggets.

Jerami Grant and Nikola Jokic scored 20 points a piece for the Nuggets. Jamal Murray was playing uncomfortable in the game. The prolific point guard was hobbling all throughout the game after hurting his right leg.

The product out of Kentucky was already dealing with issues on his hamstring entering the series.

“The job is not done,” Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said in a short celebration after the game crowning them as Western Conference champions.

Vogel was the 10th Lakers coach to reach the NBA finals.

The Lakers are now waiting who will prevail as the Eastern Conference champions. The Miami Heat lead the series against the Boston Celtics 3-2.
