The ECQ will be extended until April 30, 2020.

Negros Occidental Eugenio Lacson, in his executive order 20-20-A, said that the extension was done with the recommendation of the Provincial Health Office as a disease-prevention measure to limit the transmission of COVID-19 in the province.

He cited that the city could not be complacent in the face of an ongoing threat of the pandemic, since local transmission is still a “grave and present threat”.

The E.O. said the city could not afford to lose its “gains and momentum” in controlling the virus.

The ECQ was done upon consultation with the Inter-Agency Task Force Head Vice-Mayor El Cid Familiaran, the City Health Office, and the city’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
