The Philippine Volcanology and Seismology has declared an Alert Level 1 or low level unrest on Mt. Kanlaon as it observes rumblings within the volcano for the past 24 hours.
Phivolcs said that under this alert level, entry into four-kilometer radius Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) is not allowed, and neither is flying any aircraft close to the volcano.
Possible hazards that can occur include sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions.
Other observations within 24 hours include 16 volcanic earthquakes, 15 tons of sulfur dioxide flux, and some ground deformation specifically the volcano edifice has slightly inflated.
